Maison Margiela Debuts Its Latest Boutique in Dubai

Maison Margiela continues its strategic expansion in the Middle East with the unveiling of its new boutique at Mall of the Emirates in Dubai. This opening marks a milestone, following the joint venture between OTB Group and Chalhoub Group announced last June. Occupying a 265-square-metre space, the boutique introduces an elevated retail experience, complete with a 40-square-metre terrace café operated by AP&Co. Hospitality. A year in the making, the concept seamlessly reflects the maison’s distinct visual language.

The boutique’s architecture embodies Maison Margiela’s evolving design ethos, defined by sweeping travertine curves that guide visitors through the space. Its façade, composed of curved, backlit travertine tubes, creates a theatrical effect reminiscent of an oversized curtain, subtly showcasing the emblematic Tabi footprint in a striking pattern. A touch of dark patinated bronze meanders throughout, linking key elements from the shopfront to the collection displays.

Inside, the boutique is designed to present Maison Margiela’s complete universe. The ground floor houses an extensive selection of ready-to-wear, bags, small leather goods, and footwear, with the shoe area serving as a focal point. The interplay of misfit furniture and a travertine sofa—deconstructed in form—reinforces the maison’s avant-garde spirit. Décortiqué techniques emerge in the shelves, display tables, and seating, where stained travertine surfaces are accented with contrasting white epoxy resin.

Adding to the exclusivity, three spacious fitting rooms, including a dedicated VIP suite, provide an intimate shopping experience, each framed by travertine tubes for enhanced privacy. To commemorate the opening, the boutique introduces an exclusive Snatched bag and small leather goods in a limited-edition Thyme colourway, further cementing its status as a destination for Maison Margiela devotees.


This latest opening aligns with the house’s ongoing retail evolution, following flagship launches in London, Paris, Osaka, and Shanghai.
