Cavalli Takes Part in WWD Fashion Summit, Saudi Arabia

Roberto Cavalli recently announced its involvement in the WWD Global Fashion Summit held on June 6 at the King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD) Conference Center in Riyadh.

Representing the brand was Fausto Puglisi, the Global Creative Director of Cavalli, who joined a panel discussion focusing on the burgeoning fashion landscape in the region.

The panel, titled "Exploring the Impact of Storytelling in Today's Competitive Market," delved into strategies for engaging with digitally-savvy consumers, a topic closely aligned with Cavalli's recognition of the Saudi Arabian market's significance where the market is propelled by its youthful demographic and widespread digital adoption.

“It is pleasing to see how global fashion is interspersed into the fabric of the Middle East landscape, blending harmoniously with the local culture and heritage. The strength of the emerging fashion ecosystem in Saudi Arabia is that it is being led by Gen Z designers and aspirant brands born in a digital age,” said Puglisi. “We are excited to have been a part of this revolution and to contribute our experience in crafting a powerful brand narrative.”

With a rich history of embracing diverse markets and cultural influences, Cavalli's participation in the summit signifies its dedication to the luxury fashion market in the GCC region under Puglisi's leadership. His visit reflects the region's growing appetite for luxury fashion and inclusivity. Guided by Puglisi's vision, Cavalli is undergoing a revival, prioritizing individuality, redefining luxury, enhancing shopping experiences, and expanding retail presence across the US, EMEA, and the Middle East.

Puglisi's creative direction infuses refined cultural elements with a vibrant and unique style, earning international acclaim and establishing him as a prominent figure in the fashion industry. His collections have graced numerous celebrities, including Nicki Minaj, M.I.A., Jennifer Lopez, Katy Perry, and Madonna, and he has collaborated with Taylor Swift on tour costumes.

Over the past five decades, Roberto Cavalli has evolved into a global fashion and lifestyle icon, catering to the elite worldwide. In 2012, the brand expanded into home interiors with Roberto Cavalli Home Collections. Today, its portfolio encompasses luxury segments, including Junior, Fragrances, Watches, Eyewear, and Just Cavalli collections.

Since its acquisition by Hussain Sajwani, Founder and Chairman of the DAMAC Group, in July 2019, Roberto Cavalli has been strategically expanding its presence in the GCC region. With recent store openings in London and Las Vegas, the brand is actively pursuing opportunities in the Middle East, particularly Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, as part of its growth strategy.
