Mestaria Gallery Presents “Interwoven” by Areej Rajab
Mestaria Gallery proudly presents "Interwoven," the latest exhibition by renowned Bahraini artist Areej Rajab, running from October 17 to November 10, 2024. This exhibition offers viewers an immersive experience where colours and emotions harmoniously overlap, reflecting the intricate patterns of human behaviour alongside the natural world’s rhythms.
Born and raised in Bahrain, Areej Rajab’s journey into art began at a young age. While she initially pursued business and general management at the University of Bahrain, her passion ultimately led her to the London College of Art, where her creative vision truly flourished. Since then, her work has captivated collectors and art enthusiasts across the Middle East and the UK, with numerous exhibitions showcasing her distinctive style.
"Interwoven" embodies Areej’s exploration of the deep connection between nature and human behaviour. Her art reveals the delicate beauty of natural forms and their resemblance to the complexities of human emotions. Through layered colours, she symbolically portrays how these elements intertwine, much like patterns in nature. Her fluid brushstrokes and deliberate lines evoke movement and freedom, echoing the patterns found in both nature and our inner worlds.
Areej's work expresses an optimistic, hopeful vision of the world. Her vibrant palette is carefully chosen to convey joy and positivity, with each hue selected to inspire specific emotions. By leaving her paintings untitled, she invites viewers to create their own connections and interpretations.
