Leonardo Partida Prieto and Dmitry Suhov Exhibit in Dubai
Dubai recently hosted two compelling solo exhibitions presented by Skaya Art, featuring internationally acclaimed artists Leonardo Partida Prieto and Dmitry Suhov. These exhibitions underscored the city’s growing stature as a global art hub, attracting artists, collectors, and curators eager to engage with contemporary artistic expressions.
Dmitry Suhov’s exhibition at Oblong Contemporary Gallery showcased a series of large-scale paintings and sculptural steles that explored the subconscious mind. His work, curated by Paola Marucci, Elena Zaytseva, and Lena Lenskaya, blended bold colours with intricate textures, creating a multi-layered narrative of human emotion. Drawing inspiration from Kazimir Malevich and Jackson Pollock, Suhov merged classical techniques with modern abstraction, offering a perspective on contemporary expressionism. The exhibition will run until March 29, 2025, at Oblong Contemporary Gallery on Bluewaters Island.
Meanwhile, Leonardo Partida Prieto’s solo exhibition at Art Venture Gallery in Dubai Design District (D3) examined the symbolic connection between the human heart and diamonds. Through 10 never-before-seen mixed-media pieces, Prieto reflected on endurance, transformation, and the pursuit of dreams. His work paralleled the process of diamond formation with human resilience, inviting viewers to contemplate passion and self-discovery. The exhibition includes an artist talk until April 20, 2025.
