KAYALI’s “Silk Santal” is Back

Created as an ode to everlasting love, KAYALI's Wedding Collection was crafted by Mona Kattan and her husband, Hassan Elamin, for their special day. Drawing inspiration from their deep bond and Hassan’s Sudanese heritage, “The Wedding Silk Santal | 36” and “The Wedding Velvet Santal | 35” share the strength of creamy sandalwood at their core. Known as "Santal," this hero note anchors each fragrance, amplifying the luxurious blend of decadent ingredients. Both scents are timeless individually, yet when layered, they create a more profound experience — celebrating love in its many forms.

Mona and Hassan collaborated with Firmenich perfumers Fabrice Pellegrin and Gabriela Chelariu during their wedding preparations in late 2021 to bring this collection to life.

“The Wedding Silk Santal | 36”, a vegan-friendly scent, opens with the playful brightness of sparkling champagne and white freesia. At its heart, lush nectarine and pink praline take centre stage, while sugared musk and creamy sandalwood form an enchanting base—a tribute to joyous celebration.

“The Wedding Velvet Santal | 35” captivates with a gentle blend of jasmine petals and white musk, enriched by the velvety warmth of sandalwood, cedarwood, and benzoin. Its creamy, woody base evokes the feeling of an intimate embrace, embodying the essence of unconditional love.

True to KAYALI’s ethos of thoughtful design, the packaging reflects the personality of each fragrance, inspired by Mona and Hassan's wedding attire. Velvet Santal mirrors Hassan’s black suit, housed in a sleek, matte black bottle, understated yet impactful. Silk Santal reflects Mona’s white satin dress, in a frosted glass bottle with delicate accents reminiscent of her sparkling jewelry. Each fragrance’s number signifies the number of modifications made before reaching the perfect formula.
