Jaeger-LeCoultre Launches the Reverso Tribute Chronograph

For 2024, Jaeger-LeCoultre reimagines the Reverso Tribute Chronograph in a full pink gold edition, adding a new layer of luxury to its renowned collection. This model, first introduced in 2023 with options in steel and 18k pink gold, now features a solid pink gold dial, movement bridges, and accents like applied indexes and a pin buckle. Limited to just 250 pieces, the Reverso Tribute Chronograph continues the legacy of refined aesthetics combined with robust, sporting functionality, reflecting the Maison’s dedication to exceptional design.

The Reverso’s history traces back to 1931 when it was designed with a swiveling case to protect the dial during polo matches. Over the years, its elegance and Art Deco styling attracted wearers far beyond the polo field. The watch has evolved from steel to various precious metals, with the blank flip side used as a canvas for decoration or a second dial. Consistently honoring its origins while embracing innovation, the Reverso remains one of the most recognizable wristwatches, celebrated as an icon of 20th-century design.

The Reverso Tribute Chronograph’s design nods to its sporting origins, celebrating Jaeger-LeCoultre’s craftsmanship through the Calibre 860. Originally introduced in 1996, this movement revolutionized chronograph functionality by displaying time on both the front and reverse dials. The 2024 version revisits this structure, with intricate mechanics and aesthetic elements crafted in the Manufacture in Le Sentier. The front dial’s engraved pink gold, marked by signature Dauphine hands and a chemin de fer minutes track, reinforces the Reverso’s rectilinear beauty, while the reverse reveals a finely crafted chronograph mechanism.

Calibre 860, a hand-wound chronograph movement, is housed within the rectangular Reverso case, aligning form with function. It incorporates a retrograde 30-minute counter and central seconds display, with the entire mechanism maintaining an impressive 52-hour power reserve. This complex yet elegant movement, with over 300 components, achieves a remarkable thinness of just 11.14 mm, embodying Jaeger-LeCoultre’s commitment to high watchmaking standards and precision.

Accompanying this timepiece are two straps, each a nod to its polo heritage. One is a tan calf leather strap crafted by Casa Fagliano, the Argentinian polo bootmaker, adding a sporty charm; the other, in black alligator, lends a timeless elegance.
