Chopard Unveils the “Alpine Eagle 41 Darshan” UAE Edition
The Alpine Eagle collection introduces a new limited-edition model, celebrating the enduring partnership between Chopard and Seddiqi. This exclusive 41 mm timepiece, limited to just 25 pieces, features a dial inspired by the slate stone characteristic of Alpine landscapes. Crafted from Chopard's exclusive Lucent Steel™, known for its remarkable durability and radiance, the watch is powered by the high-precision Chopard 01.15-C movement, certified as a chronometer for its impeccable accuracy. The model is named “Alpine Eagle 41 Darshan”, in tribute to an eagle that set the record for the highest bird flight ever recorded from a man-made structure in 2015.
The name “Darshan” carries spiritual significance, symbolizing direct contact with the divine. In 2015, an eagle named Darshan soared from the top of Dubai's Burj Khalifa, setting a world record. This event inspired the new timepiece, which honors the partnership between Jacques-Olivier Travers, the eagle's trainer, and Chopard’s Co-President, Karl-Friedrich Scheufele. Together, they founded the Alpine Eagle Foundation to raise awareness about the delicate Alpine ecosystem.
Limited to 25 pieces and crafted from Lucent Steel™, which boasts a recycling rate of 80%, the Alpine Eagle 41 Darshan symbolizes strength and precision, much like the majestic eagle it celebrates. The dial of the Alpine Eagle 41 Darshan reflects the beauty of nature with its slate-like texture and deep, rich hues. Gilded hour-markers and hands with Super-LumiNova® Grade X1 ensure readability both day and night, perfecting the sporty-chic aesthetic.
At the heart of this timepiece is the Chopard 01.15-C self-winding movement, visible through a sapphire crystal case-back. This movement is chronometer-certified, providing a 60-hour power reserve and featuring a stop-seconds function for precise time-setting.
The Alpine Eagle collection, conceived by three generations of the Scheufele family, reimagines Chopard’s iconic St. Moritz watch from the 1970s. With its distinct round case, stylized flanks, compass rose crown, and integrated metal bracelet, the collection epitomizes modern elegance. Each piece is meticulously crafted in-house, reflecting Chopard’s dedication to craftsmanship and innovation.
