Top 5 Easy Life

We have been on an Easy Life streak for months over a year.

From jazzy tones to hip hop influences, the Leicester born group have formed a sound that is so diverse it gets you analysing and breaking down everything you hear. There are so many layers to each piece making every track unique.

Laid-back and serotonin infused vibrations are the ideal words we can find to define their artistry. Here are top 5 of our favourite tracks that will bring more sunshine to your day:

  • Daydreams: ‘Daydreaming and I’m thinking of you, day drinking just for something to do, you know I daydream till the late afternoon, and all I ever see inside is you’. Easy Life never pulls back from vulnerability. The track is a form of escapism reconceptualising Aretha Franklin’s 1972 ‘Day Dreaming’ - speaking on getting drunk and falling in and out of love.

  • Peanut Butter: Part of 2-piece see you later maybe never (demos), this track feels like sun rays on your skin.

  • Nightmares: Everybody deals with their own issues and Easy Life comes to say that nobody gives a fuck about them until somebody gets hurt. Could be small issue in life, could be mental struggle, or could literally be a nightmare - unless it gets more visibly serious, no one really cares - it’s all overlooked.

  • Sangria: ‘I miss your naked body and I miss your clammy hands’. The track stays true to the group’s groovy and soulful identity and works beautifully with Arlo Parks’ silky elegance.

  • Houseplants: ‘Houseplants is a poetic experiment in which we document the all-consuming feeling of falling head over heels’ - Murray Matravers. Conversational and honest, Easy Life really shows the marriage between storytelling and songwriting.
