The Lux Collective is Expanding to the UAE and More
The award-winning Mauritian-born global luxury hotel operator, The Lux Collective, has revealed its expansion plans for 2025 and beyond, with new openings across China, Africa, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia. The group's boutique brand, SALT, will debut outside Mauritius with two properties in China, while its flagship brand, LUX*, will launch in the Middle East and Southeast Asia, and expand in Africa with a futuristic safari camp in Botswana.
SALT’s first property outside Mauritius, SALT of Anji in China, will open in Q2 2025. Set in Anji County, known for its bamboo forests and white tea, the resort will offer a connection to nature, sustainability, and local culture. Designed by architect Peter Rich, it will feature 108 guestrooms and villas, with an outdoor pool, themed restaurants, and a SALT Equilibrium spa. In 2027, SALT will open SALT of Mount Siguniang in Sichuan, China, offering access to the stunning Mount Siguniang National Park.
In Africa, LUX* will debut LUX* Xinii Mababe in Botswana, an exclusive safari camp in Mababe's wilderness. Guests will experience diverse wildlife and nature in a sustainable setting. The property will feature 26 lodges inspired by African trees, with a roof design that channels rainwater.
In the Middle East, LUX* will open two properties in Sharjah, UAE, in Q4 2025: LUX* Al Bridi and LUX* Al Jabal. LUX* Al Jabal, with 45 rooms, will offer views of the Gulf of Oman and the mountains, plus a private beach and fine dining. LUX* Al Bridi will feature 35 safari-style tented retreats, blending into the desert landscape, offering dune surfing, dining in the wild, and stargazing. Both resorts will provide immersive cultural experiences alongside luxury wellness and dining.
