“Silent Elevations” Honours Mahi Binebine in Marrakech

Galerie 208 and Mandarin Oriental, Marrakech present "Silent Elevations," an exhibition dedicated to Moroccan artist Mahi Binebine. From January 29 to March 28, this showcase highlights Moroccan contemporary art with Binebine’s monumental sculptures and a collection of paintings unseen for four years.

Mahi Binebine, born in Marrakech in 1959, is a defining voice in Moroccan art, blending literature, painting, and sculpture. His works transcend boundaries, creating human narratives where each detail reflects history. This exhibition invites visitors to explore his artistic journey daily from 12 to 6 pm, free of charge.

Set in M.O Studio at Mandarin Oriental, Marrakech, the exhibition harmonises nature and architecture. As a cultural hub, M.O Studio fosters universal connections through creative expression. Collaborating with Galerie 208, the hotel has become a cultural landmark hosting innovative works that celebrate dialogue.

The exhibition coincides with 1-54, the leading international art fair on contemporary African art, and Le Festival du Livre Africain de Marrakech. Galerie 208 will also showcase works by Mahi Binebine, Armand Boua, and eL Seed at 1-54, reinforcing its commitment to African artistic talent.
