MG Motor Launches the New MG5 in the Middle East

MG Motor Middle East has officially launched the new MG5 compact sedan in the region, following its debut at the Jeddah International Motor Show. Designed for those seeking style, technology, and comfort without a hefty price tag, the new MG5 starts at USD 12,600 (excluding VAT, depending on the market). It’s an ideal choice for a diverse range of drivers, from first-time owners to small families, offering an appealing blend of elegance and functionality. Available in three trims—Standard (STD), Comfort (COM), and Deluxe (DEL)—the MG5 provides flexibility for buyers with varying needs and preferences.

The entry-level STD model includes essential features like a multifunction steering wheel, parking radar, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Stepping up to the COM trim adds a rear-view camera and PVC leather seats for enhanced comfort. The top-tier DEL trim elevates the experience further with premium features such as a 360-degree camera, power-adjustable driver’s seat, sunroof, and wireless phone charging. Each trim provides a unique interior experience, with the DEL model featuring an expansive 12.3-inch virtual instrument meter for a luxury touch.

In terms of performance, the MG5 is equipped with a 1.5L engine delivering 109 horsepower, paired with an efficient 8-speed CVT transmission, tested for durability over 2.35 million kilometres. The car’s advanced EPS (Electric Power Steering) system includes PDC (Pull Drift Compensation) and TCS (Torque Steer Compensation) to ensure a smooth, stable ride. Drivers can choose between three steering modes—Light, Standard, and Calm—to suit their driving style, and the U-beam rear suspension offers added comfort and stability on the road.

Safety remains a top priority in the new MG5, with its high-strength body structure and innovative Super 360 Visual Assistance system that aids in parking and manoeuvring. Both the STD and COM trims include dual front and side airbags, while the DEL model adds curtain airbags, enhancing protection for all passengers.

The MG5 is available now across the GCC, Iraq, Jordan, and Lebanon.
