Ghanaian-born artist KiDi, real name Denis Nana Dawmena, releases his new single ‘Touch It’, an Afrobeats infused high-life anthem. One of the hottest prospects to come out of West Africa in recent times, KiDi ensures that the summary melody, combined with his smooth vocals allow for a little bit of sunshine even in the darkest of days. ‘Touch It’ is taken from KiDi’s forthcoming album titled ‘The Golden Boy’ out on 17th June 2021. The track sees KiDi recite “puff, puff, pass”, but he’s already too high on life for it to matter. And if you don’t believe him, check his TikTok game. He really is living the high life.

KiDi is signed to Lynx Entertainment, MadeInEny, and EMPIRE, and has seen his previous success propel him to international stardom. Meanwhile, his previous records including ‘Say You Love Me’, ‘Odo’, ‘Adiepna’, and ‘Thunder’ have ensured that the biggest plaudits around the world are now backing him. Supported by the likes of BBC Focus Africa, Capital Xtra, Reprezent and MTV, if the talent didn’t speak for itself, the backing of these tastemakers will. What’s more, at the 2021 3Music Awards, KiDi raked up 11 nominations, winning both Artist & Song Of The Year (x2). When talking about greatness, it is hard to leave KiDi out of the conversation.

The Ghanaian superstar is already so established, but it still feels like he is only just getting started. Having built an online following with over 1.6 million Instagram followers, 18 million listens on Spotify, and 62 million views on YouTube respectively, KiDi is really building an army. With his highly anticipated sophomore album ‘The Golden Boy’ expected out later this year, the future looks so bright for KiDi. For most artists, they fight their whole career to reach the top, KiDi has done this with ease. Now it is all about maintaining his place there, but it really feels like this won’t be an issue for him whatsoever.
