The Aquaflora Collection draws inspiration from the Mediterranean’s effortless glamour and sophistication. What was the creative process behind translating this vision into tangible pieces?
The creative process began with a deep exploration of the textures, colours, and spirit of the Mediterranean. From sunlit coastlines to lush botanical landscapes, I wanted to capture a sense of effortless elegance. Our prints and silhouettes reflect the movement of the sea, the richness of Mediterranean flora, and the relaxed sophistication that defines the region. Every piece is designed to evoke the feeling of a perfect summer escape—light, luxurious, and timeless.
How do you strike the balance between timeless elegance and modern versatility in this collection?
I focus on silhouettes that are both classic and adaptable, ensuring they feel relevant season after season. The fabric choices, fluid draping, and intricate prints add a contemporary edge while maintaining an air of effortless sophistication. Versatility is key; these pieces can be worn from day to night, from the beach to an elegant dinner, reflecting the dynamic lifestyle of the niLuu woman.
Travel and exploration seem to be central to the collection’s spirit. Who is the niLuu woman, and how do you envision her wearing these pieces?
The niLuu woman is confident, conscious, and endlessly curious. She is drawn to beauty with depth—pieces that tell a story, that feel luxurious yet have purpose. She values sustainability without compromising on style. Whether she is lounging at a coastal retreat, attending a rooftop soirée, or simply embracing slow mornings at home, she wears niLuu as a reflection of her refined yet effortless lifestyle.
The print story is particularly striking, from the refined Palmera to the bold Rocco and the symbolic Jackson. What was the inspiration behind these patterns, and what emotions or narratives do you hope they evoke?
Each print in Aquaflora tells a unique story. Palmera captures the serenity of swaying palms, evoking a feeling of tranquillity and understated luxury. Rocco is bold and expressive, inspired by the rugged beauty of Mediterranean landscapes. Jackson carries a symbolic weight—it’s a celebration of strength and individuality, blending organic elements with modern artistry. Collectively, these prints are designed to transport the wearer, evoking emotions of freedom, escape, and a deep connection to nature.
Sustainability is at the heart of niLuu. What steps do you take to ensure that the luxurious feel of niLuu’s pieces doesn’t come at the expense of the environment?
From the very beginning, sustainability has been non-negotiable for us. We use eco-friendly fabrics like biodegradable silk alternatives, ensuring that our materials are as kind to the planet as they are to the skin. We work with responsible manufacturing partners who uphold ethical labour practices. Additionally, our production processes are designed to minimise waste, and we prioritise timeless designs over fast fashion trends, encouraging a more mindful approach to consumption.
If you had to pick a signature piece from Aquaflora that embodies niLuu’s essence, which would it be and why?
The Palmera Kimono would be that piece. It perfectly embodies niLuu’s vision—fluid yet structured, effortlessly elegant, and consciously made. It’s versatile enough to be worn as a statement piece or layered for a more understated look. More than just clothing, it represents a lifestyle, one that embraces beauty, sustainability, and timeless sophistication.

We are constantly pushing the boundaries of what sustainable luxury can be. Future collections will continue to refine our craftsmanship, exploring new materials and innovative production techniques that further reduce our environmental impact. We’re also expanding our presence in key markets and deepening our storytelling. niLuu is not just about fashion; it is about creating a movement toward conscious, elevated living.
